This is a game that was first created on Xbox hardware and is now running on an entirely different type of game system architecture. Loading Forza's open world takes almost no time at all – there are no loading splash screens or bars to sit through, it's all essentially instantaneous. PlayStation Plus has turned into something much more than basic online multiplayer access, with the game library across tiers for subscribers they can access hundreds of titles with content spanning console generations to create yet another museum of gaming, and to allow me to play the classic ones I missed when they originally came out among the fresh new contemporaries.

With backward compatibility support, my entire PlayStation 4 library is available, and quite often at better performance level.Games load faster, run smoother, and sometimes look better than they did on the original hardware. Horizon Forbidden West not only physically pushed visual boundaries, but it has effectively integrated environmental haptic feedback which enhances open-world exploration. The create button is really well positioned and responsive, so the moment I feel like taking a screenshot or recording, I don't feel like I've broken immersion. The system also captures small clips, which I would have never thought about manually, when the system thinks I'm having an interesting moment (or an important moment).

The Generational Gaming Bridge

The backward compatibility of the PS5 has had an unintentional impact on my approach to older games. The PS5 supports my entire PS4 library and most of my older PS4 games are, not only compatible, but actually better on the PS5.
